The Irving Theater results and next weekend at The Emerson!

We wanna take the time to thank everyone who came out and saw us last night at The Irving Theater.
We thought it was a lot of fun and we hope you did too.

The PA used at last night's show wasn't the best PA for that type of show. And due to this, many of the members couldn't hear what was going on. It made for a very rough set, but we still had a lot of energy and people still said it was good.

We met Opponents last night and they were all super rad dudes. We hope to play with them a lot more in the future.
_______________________________________________________________________________

Next weekend we're playing with Gwen Stacy, Cliques, Opponents, Ghost of Maine, The Contortionist, An American Shootout and a bunch of other rad bands at the Emerson Theater.
It's an all day show and we really hope you come out to it.
We play at 4:15 right after Opponents and right before An American Shootout.

Search for a new drummer continues!

Luke Kahren (formerly of We Were Monsters and Hotter Than Nashville) is going to be temporarily filling in for us until we find someone permanent.

We should be playing some shows and recording demos with him in the coming weeks.

With that being said, we are still looking for a permanent drummer. If you're interested, read our last blog post and message us for details.
Thanks!

We need a new drummer! ASAP

We are currently having auditions for a new drummer.

As some of you know, Dustin quit Rumor Has It about a month ago to focus his time on Finding Solace. What sucks about it is that he quit the day we were supposed to go to the recording studio. So, we're looking for someone who can meet the following requirements.

Requirements:

- Legit as fuck.
- Must have gnar skills.
- Gotta be solid. Like, super solid.
- Driving is totally a plus.
- You have to be a rad dude to hang out with.
- And you gotta have money for band expenses (gas, recording, merch).

If you're interested or know someone who could help us out, send us a message on MySpace.
The sooner we get a drummer, the sooner we can record and start playing shows again.

Recording later this month!

On Spetember 26th, we're gonna begin to record our full length debut at Threshold Studios.
As of right now, it's just going to be self-titled, but that's subject to change. We're going to be recording the songs and Intro, "Stop Sippin' Haterade," "Hey Bud, Let's Party!" and a few other yet to be titled songs. Also, the release will feature "Shut Your Mouth" and "Killing People" from the Burning Bridge sessions last year as bonus tracks.
We're hoping to have 11 tracks on the release and we're really looking forward to it.

IWrestledABearOnce! Acoustic! Recording!

We go to the studio to record our debut EP on the 26th, but the weekend before that, we've got some big stuff going on.

On Friday, September 19th, Carter is playing a solo acoustic set at Lazy Daze Coffee House in Indianapolis where he'll be playing many old Rumor Has It songs that most people haven't heard in almost a year. After his set, Jari Nation from Something To Call A Hero will play an acoustic set. It's gonna be a lot of fun and its totally free!

On Saturday, September 20th, we will be playing with IWrestledABearOnce (Century Media) at the Fall Creek House in Anderson. We found out about them a few months before they got signed and thought they were so rad.

Rumor Has It

And starting on September 26th, we are going to be recording our debut EP at Threshold Studios in Indianapolis. A bunch of awesome local bands like Post Collapse, Grimewar, Amarna Reign, Hey Bastard, An American Shootout have all recorded there. We're looking to record 6-8 songs. If we end up doing 8 songs, then I guess it would be considered a full length.

We're super stoked about all the shit we got going on this month and are really looking forward to it.

Hey guys! It's been awhile since our last post and we apologize. Here's what's new with us.

On August 20th, we're playing with Ligeia (Ferret Music) at the Indianapolis Lion's Club. Amarna Reign is gonna be there with The Goodnight Horizon and The Depravity Fall. It's gonna be a huge show and it's guaranteed to be a lot of fun.

Also, we're looking to record our debut EP sometime early this fall. We're looking at a September date and we're looking around at different studios in Indianapolis. A final track listing and stuff has not been determined.

Nash is back!

Nash is back from an England, so we're playing as a full band again.
And we're still looking for a second guitarist.

6.15.08 Update!

As of right now, Nash, our guitarist, is in England. So for the time being, our bassist Derek is playing guitar and we will continue to play shows without a bassist until Nash's return.
Nash will be back on June 30th, so any shows after that, we will be playing as a full band.

I Rise, No Turning Back, Wake Up Call

Last night, we were supposed to play at the Rooftop with I Rise, No Turning Back, Wake Up Call, Divebomb! and Post Collapse. And I was supposed to be Divebomb!'s last show. Shit happens and The Rooftop didn't want to do it. I heard something about mildew problems (due to recent flooding in Franklin), but I don't know.
Our buddy Josh, who booked the show, pulled some strings and got the show moved to The Gear. The Gear is an all Christian venue right across the street. We show up there and the dudes at The Gear said that they were only taking the touring bands from the bill onto their show because they already had 2 or 3 bands booked for the night. And we didn't know that upon our arrival.
We show up to the show and they told us the news. Derek, our acting guitarist, was pissed and stormed out. I talked to the guys and explained to them what had happened and they let us play first but they said that we had to omit "Killing People When They're Already Dead" (probably our worst song) and amend the lyrics for various other songs. No problem.
Before we played, we saw a security guard with a gun. Joey (a friend of the band) heard the guard say to his wife, "Make sure you get me my gun. Things are gonna get crazy tonight. Kids: if things get crazy, I want you to go outside."
So, we play first. There wasn't as many people in there as we would have liked, but it was alright. Our set was good except for when I accidentally unplugged Derek's guitar.
Then some other local bands played. The I Rise takes the stage and the place erupts. It was pretty rad. Totally cool dudes. No Turning Back came on and they were rad as hell. UK HARDCORE!
When Wake Up Call came on, everyone was moving. The singer made a comment about how the security guard had a gun and how they thought it was lame that the venue didn't want them to express themselves properly. So, during their next song, the venue shut down all the power on stage.
Everybody was pissed. They all started saying "Fuck God!" and and talking shit about the place. It was pretty funny. I kinda wish that the security guard heard his comments. He needed to hear that, but he wasn't there when they played.
Overall, it was a fun show. Hanging out with friends outside and listening to good music. You know.

Introduction

We're Rumor Has It. We're a hardcore band from Indianapolis, Indiana.
LINE UP:
Nash Hott - Guitar
Carter Seaton - Vocals
Dirk Sloanay - Bass
Dustin Schilling - Drums

We started in the summer of 2005. We originally didn't have a name and we played mostly cover songs from the Sex Pistols and the Ramones. We began writing our own songs (influenced by Saves The Day and artists similar to them) and throwing our own shows in our old guitar player's, Zach, basement.

Our first real show was at the old Club Logo's (now The Rooftop) in Franklin, Indiana on Friday, November 17th, 2006. We thought we were hot shit.

Over the next year or so, we played shows all over Indiana with all kinds of bands. Our style began to shift due to our personal preferences and interests in music.
We recorded a shitty demo at our friend's home studio. I feel bad for every person who paid money for that shit.

In July of 2007, we went to Burning Bridge Recordings (Haste The Day, Saints Never Surrender, In The Face Of War) to record some music. We weren't sure what exactly what we were going to with our finished product, but we wanted to do it. Ryan Warren from Ghost of Maine did most of the producing with some additional production from Joel Lauver from Trenches. Ryan was high most of the time, so it didn't end up awesome like we wanted, but they were still pretty good recordings.

We played more shows all over the place. We played some really good shows and then we played some really fucking shitty shows. We were all having a good time until Zach and Derek got suspended from school for smoking pot and then going to Friday school. Zach moved to his dad's in Nashville, Indiana and left the band. This left us with one guitar. Carter and Nash played the remaining shows acoustically while Dustin joined Take Hollywood Over (now Finding Solace) on guitar.

Around January of 2008, the acoustic shows came to an end and we tried to decide what to do about our predicament. We decided to ditch most of the old material and continue on with one guitar. All of our new material was total hardcore punk and we played our big comeback show on March 28th at the Emerson. And we've been playing shows ever since.

I mean a few things have happened since then. Like, xRuthlessx and us got a venue shut down and a few of us got arrested, but nothing other than that.
